Rental requirements
What you need before you drive away.
These requirements are maintained by our team and can change. The requirements that apply to your rental are shown again at checkout and on your rental agreement.

Requirements vary by state, location, and vehicle class. Anything listed here is indicative until confirmed for your specific reservation.
Minimum age
Renters are generally 25 or older. Drivers aged 21–24 may rent where local law and vehicle class allow, with a young driver fee. Some classes are restricted to drivers 25+.
Valid driver's licence
A current, unexpired licence in the renter's name, held for at least 12 months. International renters should also carry their passport and, where applicable, an International Driving Permit.
Accepted identification
A government-issued photo ID in addition to the driver's licence — for example a passport or state ID card.
Payment card
A credit or debit card in the renter's name for the rental charges and any refundable authorization. Cash and prepaid cards are not accepted for the security hold.
Security deposit
A refundable authorization may be held on your card at pickup. The amount depends on the vehicle class and is released after the vehicle is returned, subject to inspection.
Insurance & protection
Renters must have valid coverage, or purchase an available protection product, where required by state law or by our rental policies.
Additional drivers
Each additional driver must be present at pickup, meet the same age and licence requirements, and be added to the rental agreement. A daily fee applies.
Mileage
The mileage allowance for your rental is confirmed at booking and on your rental agreement. Charges for mileage beyond the allowance are disclosed before you pay.
Fuel policy
Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at pickup, or select prepaid fuel. Refuelling by us is charged at market rate plus a service charge.
Late return
A grace period applies, after which late returns are charged hourly up to one additional day's rate. Tell us as soon as you know your plans have changed.
Vehicle use restrictions
No off-road use, towing, racing, commercial ride-hailing or delivery without written approval, smoking, or travel outside agreed territory. Only listed drivers may drive.
